Minnesota Highway 23 has reopened in Duluth’s Fond du Lac neighborhood. The highway has been closed since June 19, when a major storm left the highway and surrounding neighborhoods flooded.

After the water receded, crews removed debris from Mission Creek and the highway. They also made emergency road repairs.

According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, only two state highways remain closed in Northeastern Minnesota:

  • U.S. Highway 2 between Interstate 35 and Boundary Avenue in Proctor

  • Minnesota Highway 210 from mile marker 220 to 227 through Jay Cooke State Park
