Updates on area highways affected by flooding

Midway Road between U.S. Highway 2 and I-35 was reopened Friday afternoon, but drivers were asked to take extra caution as portions of the shoulder are still missing and there are no guardrails. Midway Road will close again at 7 a.m. today a half-mile south of Industrial Road for an emergency culvert replacement. The road is expected to reopen at least one lane by noon.

Midway Road between U.S. Highway 2 and I-35 was reopened Friday afternoon, but drivers were asked to take extra caution as portions of the shoulder are still missing and there are no guardrails. Midway Road will close again at 7 a.m. today a half-mile south of Industrial Road for an emergency culvert replacement. The road is expected to reopen at least one lane by noon.

Some other road updates as of early Saturday:

  • U.S. Highway 2 closed between I-35 and Boundary Avenue in Proctor, and will remain so for much of the summer as crews start work on an already-planned reconstruction project.

  • U.S. Highway 2 open between Brookston and Floodwood, but reduced to a single lane with flaggers in spots

  • State Highway 61 closed at Knife River, detour in place

  • State Highway 65 closed eight miles south of McGregor, detour in place

  • State Highway 73 closed near County Highway 61

  • State Highway 73 closed west of Moose Lake

  • State Highway 73 closed north of Floodwood

  • State Highway 27 closed at State Highway 73 at Moose Lake

  • State Highway 210 closed through Jay Cooke State Park

  • State Highway 210 closed from McGregor to Tamarack, detour in place

  • State Highway 23 closed at Fond du Lac

  • Jean Duluth Road is closed at the Lester River, near Zimmerman Road
