MARY "JEANNIE" KOIVISTO

Mary "Jeannie" Koivisto, 70, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012.

Jeannie was a lifelong resident of Duluth, born Nov. 3, 1941.

Jeannie retired from UMD after 32 years of service. After retirement Jeannie was often found on the golf course. She was an avid golfer, bowler and the occasional bingo fanatic. She enjoyed her many crosswords and cryptoquips.

Jeannie was preceded in death by her sons Timothy and Scooter.

Jeannie is survived by her loving husband Gary of 53 years; sons Donald, Gary and daughter Susan; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and her beloved dogs Molly and Peanut.

VISITATION: 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, until the 2 p.m. memorial service in the Sunrise Memorial Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at a later date at Sunrise Memorial Park, Hermantown, Minn. In lieu of flowers any cash donation given to the family will be used to purchase a bench in Jeannie's memory at Grandview Golf course.
