Minnesota Ballet to present sixth annual Celebrity Dance Challenge

Twelve Northland celebrities will pair with Minnesota Ballet professional dancers to compete in the spirited Celebrity Dance Challenge 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at Marshall School’s Fregeau Auditorium, 1215 Rice Lake Road.
Preparing for their new roles as dancers, in styles from the sultry tango to the roaring Charleston to the dramatic paso doble are:
Dan Hanger, Fox News 21 evening lead anchor, will emcee the event. Dance judges Lila White, Rebecca Katz-Harwood, and Jeff Anderson will evaluate each couple, but audience ballots will decide the winning couple. While the votes are counted, the Minnesota Ballet will present a mini performance of popular pieces.
Tickets for the event, $25/$30 for adults, $15/$20 for students/children, may be purchased from the ballet, (218)529-3742 or www.minnesotaballet.org; Jitters Coffee & Tea House; A Touch of Plasch; Younkers Hair Salon at Miller Hill Mall; or at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Minnesota Ballet.
