Reader's view: Get specific; leave the moral generalities to churches
Duluth Mayor Don Ness must have something specific in mind with his current reminders about racism.
Duluth Mayor Don Ness must have something specific in mind with his current reminders about racism. Are the school districts gerrymandered? Are procedures in place to discourage minorities from voting? Do our banks have discriminatory lending practices? Are there hotels and restaurants in Duluth that exclude minorities? Do we have businesses that pay minorities unfair wages? Most Duluthians would want to see such problems corrected, and I wish Mayor Ness would get down to specifics. Time and money would be better spent correcting specific problems, leaving the moral generalities to the churches.
