The second annual Bubble Festival will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Duluth Children’s Museum in Clyde Park. This free event includes an open ice skate and rock climbing (must be 6 or older).

The free Movies in the Park series at Leif Erikson Park returns with a screening of “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa” at dusk. (This is a rain date.)

Minnesota Women of Today will host a free picnic from 3 to 5 p.m. at Enger Tower Park. Youth activities provided; bring a dish to share.

Monday, Aug. 30

The Latin America dance and music experience “Drums! Dance! Duluth!” will be performed at 8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 30-Sept. 1, at Teatro Zuccone. Cost is $10.

Mayor Don Ness will host the next “Mayor’s Night” with Duluth citizens starting at 5 p.m. at City Hall (Room 405). The event continues until everyone who signs up gets a chance to speak to Ness and his staff about concerns.

A free back-to-school presentation about the differences between how boys and girls learn will be held at 6 p.m. at Proctor High School. It will be presented by Kathy Stevens, co-author of “The Minds of Boys.”

A new collection of original Nancy Stone paintings in oil will be on display through Tuesday at Pizza Luce.

“Blu Dot” will be the featured collection at UMD’s Tweed Museum of Art through Sept. 5.
