Chequamegon Bay birding/nature fest set for May

The fourth annual Chequamegon Bay Birding and Nature Festival will be held May 21-23 at Ashland. Duluth birder and public radio show host Laura Erickson is the featured speaker this year. The Chequamegon Bay area is a popular birding destination, with a variety of hatitat types and more than 300 bird species.

The event will include 120 activities to choose from, including guided field trips, exhibits, workshops and self-guided field trips. The Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and County Highway G in Ashland, will serve as the home base for the event. For more information call (800) 284-9484 or visit www.birdandnaturefest.com.
