Wisconsin to give swine flu vaccinations by midweek

MADISON — Wisconsin officials probably will start giving swine flu vaccinations to health care workers this week.

Wisconsin Department of Health Services spokesman Seth Boffeli said he expects the vaccines, in nasal mist form, will get to hospitals and clinics Tuesday or Wednesday.

Some states already have the vaccinations, like Indiana and Tennessee.

After the health care workers, the vaccines will be given to pregnant women, household contacts and caregivers for children under six months old, all people from six months through 24 years of age and those with high-risk health conditions.

Boffeli estimated the general public could start receiving them, by nasal mist and shot, by the beginning of November.
