Due to the perdicted snowstorm tomorrow, Asbury United Methodist Church has rescheduled their spring meatball dinner for Thursday, April 2 from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

College Football Hall of Fame coach talks God

John Gagliardi of Saint John’s University fame, aka college football’s “all-time winningest coach,” will speak about “Football, Footballers and the Reign of God” Thursday at the College of St. Scholastica for its “Here Comes Everybody” Catholic lecture series. His presentation will be held at 7 p.m. in Somers Lounge. Free.

Lenten worship and agape meal

First Lutheran Church will have a Lenten worship service at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, followed by an agape meal prepared by Beatrice Ojakangas and her kitchen crew. Call 728-3668.

Soup supper and Lenten service

A 6 p.m. soup supper will be followed by Lenten service at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Fellowship Hall at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 4831 Grand Ave. Call 624-1804 for more information.

Christian education classes

CHUM (Churches United in Ministry) Church, a faith-based community which includes adults with developmental disabilities, will hold Christian education classes and a worship service at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 5, at Peace United Church of Christ, 1111 N. 11th Ave. E. Services are open to anyone wishing to attend, and visitors are always welcome. The group, sponsored by CHUM, will be hosted by the Family of God Lutheran Church.

Rummage and bake sale

Trinity Lutheran Church, 1108 E. Eighth St., will host its semi-annual rummage and bake sale from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 3, and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 4.

Pancake breakfast (gluten-free too)

There will be a pancake breakfast (gluten-free also available) from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, April 5, at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 325 E. Third St. Cost is $3 for children 12 and younger, $6 for adults. Call 722-3078 for more.

Interfaith forum on the state budget

An interfaith community forum will take place from 2 to 4 pm. Sunday, March 29, at Temple Israel, 1602 E. Second St.

The forum’s purpose is to reflect on our respective faith traditions’ teachings about social justice, to educate ourselves about what’s at stake in the current state budget crisis, to discuss with our legislators how we can have the most impact on budget decisions and to provide immediate opportunities to write letters and e-mails to state decision makers. Local legislators are scheduled to attend.

The forum is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

Free concert

The Twin Ports Community Concert Series presents the UMD Wind Quintet at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 5 at First Covenant Church, 2101 W. Second St., Duluth.

The program is free and a reception will follow in the lower social parlors. Featured musicians are Lorie Scott on flute, Laurie VanBrunt on oboe, Theodore Schoen on clarinet, Jefferson Campbell on bassoon and James Pospisil on horn.

Music by J.S. Bach, Paul Taffanel and Carl Nielsen.

Ham dinner at Norton Park

Norton Park United Methodist Church,436 N. 79th Ave. W., will serve its annual Ham Dinner from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 29.

Take outs are available. Adults are $8 and children ages 3-10 are $3.50; children under 2 are free. The dinner will include ham, cheesy potatoes, corn cole slaw, bread, desert and a beverage.

All this for only $8!

Easter Fun for kids

Children and families are welcome to come to “Easter for Kids” from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 4, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 802 Maple Grove Road.

Kids ages 3 through fifth grade will enjoy Easter-themed crafts, snacks, bible lessons and signing.
