Nicholas B. Schutz


I’m Nicholas Schutz. For several years, the focus of my law practice has been on family law, appellate practice, estate planning, elder law and immigration law. My legal career also includes experience in employment litigation (district, appellate, state, and federal courts), products liability, union benefits litigation, ERISA, insurance subrogation and real estate.

I was born in Duluth, and lived on the north shore until I was seven years old. My family moved to Montevideo, Minnesota, where I graduated from high school. I went to college at Saint John’s University Link opens in new window. I studied law at William Mitchell College of Law Link opens in new window in St. Paul, and received my J.D. in January 2005.

I live in Duluth with my wife, two children, and dog. My family and I love taking an active part in all that Duluth and the region has to offer, year round. We enjoy beachcombing, bicycling, golfing, running, skiing, playing at Chester Bowl Park, neighborhood activities and picking berries. We are proud to call ourselves Duluthians.
