Park, tax cuts part of session-ending deal
ST. PAUL – A new state park, veterans’ home facilities and a Twin Cities passenger rail line are part of a last-minute com-promise as the Minnesota Legislature appeared to be ready to end its 2008 session. But a rare Sunday session was needed to close the deal, that included property tax relief, a fix for a $935 million budget deficit and other money issues.
