October's steel shipments slip slightly from last year

Steel shipments in October from U.S. mills slipped slightly compared to a year ago, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute. U.S. steel mills in October shipped 8.7 million net tons, a 1.3 percent decline compared to 8.8 million net tons shipped in October 2005.
