Local view: Duluth’s prosperity depends on support for its schools: Vote yes on both tiersOn a recent Saturday morning you might have seen a group of high school students rallying for this year’s education levy in Minnesota Power Plaza. Duluth has a lot to be proud of when it considers the many accomplishments of its public school students and the system that is educating them. It is especially inspiring to see them engage in a civic issue that is of the greatest importance to them and to the students who will follow in their footsteps. Our kids recognize the importance of funding the day-to-day operations of their schools because they are in overly crowded classrooms, using textbooks that are falling apart and experiencing the frustration of falling behind.
