Need for change is a matter of contention

Melanie Ford said people have told her she is “crazy, or gutsy, or foolish” to challenge seven-term incumbent Alan Mitchell by running for St. Louis County attorney. But voters have also told her that a change is needed, she said, because the office hasn’t been receptive to the needs of all of its citizens.
