Highly touted defenseman chooses UMD

COLLEGE MEN'S HOCKEY: Carson Soucy’s hometown of Irma, Alberta (pop. 450) is located about 120 miles southeast of Edmonton — hockey country. He plays in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, for Spruce Grove, in the hometown of Hockey Hall of Fame goalie Grant Fuhr. The Spruce Grove rink is named in Fuhr’s honor.
