Reader’s view: Guns protect us from the government

Ideas expressed in the Dec. 25 letter, “It’s time to repeal the Second Amendment,” have been voiced many times. But we will never be able to confiscate all weapons the letter writer considers illegal or unnecessary. There are too many of us who will not give up our handguns without a fight to the bitter end.
