Pine County woman texted friend after being shot by ex-husband

A Pine County woman who text-messaged a friend that she had been shot by her ex-husband is in a Duluth hospital in serious condition, according to the Pine County Sheriff’s Office. Her ex-husband, Daniel Shilts, 55, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.
