Local view: Despite the winter, we’ve got it pretty good in Duluth

The days of unbearable heat and humidity are well behind us for yet another year. They’re distant memories now, but all summer I heard harrowing tales from the Weather Channel and elsewhere of long stretches of triple-digit days, brown-outs and death counts due to the temperatures. All the while I basked in a cool, soothing breeze riding in off the greatest of the Great Lakes.
