Reader's view: To all veterans, a thank-you for your service

I recently lost my brother and best friend, Sgt. 1st Class Joseph D. Edwards (retired). He spent 20 years in the Army, mostly with the band, but was an Iraqi war combat veteran and recipient of the bronze star. His tragic demise was not in combat but on a Veterans Aaffairs operating table.
