Local view: We should strive to fulfill the goals enshrined in Washington, D.C., monuments

I recently had the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., with my wife and daughter. A city of monuments, our nation’s capital gives one a glimpse into the people who helped make this country into the land of the free and a country where all men and women are created equal.
