Astro Bob blog: NASA pings asteroid 2007 PA8; bright supernova pops in Great Barred Galaxy

Most asteroids look like stars in nearly every telescope because they're too small and too far away to register as anything more than dots. Radio waves are better at making pictures. And if you like watching stars blow up, there's a new supernova in a bright southern galaxy.
