Reader's view: Klobuchar needs to stand up for small farmers

I grew up in rural Iowa, where I witnessed the collapse of family farms: thousands of acres consolidated into industrial agriculture and foreclosed farms taken over by financial corporations. Abandoned small towns, boarded businesses, closed rural schools and the suicides of farmers who had lost their homes and heritage all were common.
