No crowd control at all where we were. The parade could hardly move let alone take the corner. It really is sad to see so many people that will do anything for attention..like stand in the middle of the parade route and yell on her cell phone! Please stay home next year, unless you want to pay the entry fee to be in the parade.

It was a beautiful night, and we didn't even mind the long pauses. Sure, there were some rude teenagers milling around- that is a very self- absorbed stage of life. What I didn't like was that my family spent an evening outside and went home smelling like we had been at a smoke filled bar. I know smokers have their rights, but seriously, when everyone is all crammed together at an event where there are so many children, is it just impossible to refrain from lighting up? P.U.

i didn't mean just kids Mike, but when the kids are sitting waiting i find it very rude for a big kid or adult to just plop down fn front of the little kids who were there first. big people can move to see little kids dont

I love a parade, especially this one! However, like a few of the other posters I will NEVER attend it again. The rudeness of the crowd every year I have gone is amazing! I have witnessed all of the things already posted, and people with children ignoring police officers who are asking them to move. Nice example to set. I'm curious if this is a Duluth thing, as I have never attended any of the other parades there. I have never come across it at the 4th of July parade in Superior, or the one in Two Harbors, or in larger cities that I have attended parades in.

Great Parade but I do believe that duluth needs a little more patroling. The bands/ groups were so cramed due to people sitting in the streets.Young high school kids last night were very rude we got to the parade around 5:20 so we could get a seat. 6:45 groups of high school kids were starting to plop themselves down infront of our small children blocking there view. We asked them repeatedly to move due to blocking our small children, we even pointed out to the police who were patroling. DPD did nothing kind of laughed. what fun is it to go and have someone sit right infront of the children. Parades are for children but we ended up leaving due to rude people!!!!! If they would patrol more and keep people out of the streets maybe we woudld head out there again, but due to the experience last night the 2009 christmas city of the north parade was out first and definatley out last. Pay attention Duluth

Nice action shot of Mr Dixon getting involved and becoming a part of the community.
