No crowd control at all where we were. The parade could hardly move let alone take the corner. It really is sad to see so many people that will do anything for attention..like stand in the middle of the parade route and yell on her cell phone! Please stay home next year, unless you want to pay the entry fee to be in the parade.

It was a beautiful night, and we didn't even mind the long pauses. Sure, there were some rude teenagers milling around- that is a very self- absorbed stage of life. What I didn't like was that my family spent an evening outside and went home smelling like we had been at a smoke filled bar. I know smokers have their rights, but seriously, when everyone is all crammed together at an event where there are so many children, is it just impossible to refrain from lighting up? P.U.

I love a parade, especially this one! However, like a few of the other posters I will NEVER attend it again. The rudeness of the crowd every year I have gone is amazing! I have witnessed all of the things already posted, and people with children ignoring police officers who are asking them to move. Nice example to set. I'm curious if this is a Duluth thing, as I have never attended any of the other parades there. I have never come across it at the 4th of July parade in Superior, or the one in Two Harbors, or in larger cities that I have attended parades in.

Nice action shot of Mr Dixon getting involved and becoming a part of the community.

Good weather brought out the great crowd. It was as much fun watching the crowd as the parade. I marvel at the constant movement of some of the younger members who walked back and forth looking for friends,attention,what-ever never really stopping to watch the parade. I do have a couple of concerns however 1) Why do people bring their dogs. I witnessed many with dogs and one who had two pit bulls who barked and growled at passer-bys. 2) I also witnessed an elderly gentleman in a motorized wheelchair cross the intersection reach the other side and a group of young people would not move for him to continue on. Eventually they did but not for a few minutes. Deliberatly stayed blocking him much longer then they should have. 3) I also think garbage cans should be placed along the route as people have proven they are not considerate when out in public with eating and drinking materials. 4) The varity of clothing both lack of and style was also of concern. The parade however was timed right and performed beautifully. Thanks to the planners and the performers for a fun, interesting night.
