The school board is considering a 4 day school week? (again) Probably OK for most of the students: It would still provide plenty of preparation for the jobs we have to offer here in Duluth! The students wanting a higher level of education could get it on their home computers.

Another Government run operation. Expenses too high, inefficient management, programs and building to bankrupt the area, just raise taxes. After all, its for the kids. (and the unions)

How can this even be suggested with the cost you are going to give the tax payers with all the new building???? Unbelievable, don't you think?

Your really pushing your luck. Forget the new middle schools. Combine those students into ALL 3 high schools. That would save operating and Red Plans funds. Also the students and thier families have the stability of 1 school change in 13 years and will give younger students the chance to get into sports earlier. More students will stay in your system, esp if you keep Central and the STC's open. You will loose many kids to the streets closing Central and the STC's, And most of all, It's simple and proven succesfull.

We are already way behind the other countries in the education of our children, since most of our global competitors have education systems that go all year long and don't take summer break, have longer school days and intersession programs. This is one of the reasons Japan leads us in technology. Studies have shown that more school, rather than less school also contributes to increased enthusiasm with students and teachers and fewer disciplinary problems when these models have been tested in our country. Obviously, not to mention increase in GPA and test scores, especially among lower SES children. Reducing school is going backwards in terms of competing with the global economy. We need to get our priorities straight in this country when it comes to the future of our children and our economy.

Dip into the 'rainy day' fund, isn't it about 22 million now? Folks, it's a monsoon.

The board should consider the four day week idea. If they want more information on it, they can contact the school district in Colton, Oregon. Colton went to it several years ago and I've heard the majority of the people love it.
