"Rod just being Rod." Seems part of the increasing lack of respect for others being shown today. Mr. Raymond shows a lack of respect for his "victims," and UMD shows a lack of respect for female students by allowing him to remain. Wasn't it mentioned that there was an earlier report about his behavior also, though he is still on staff.

Although the DNT reported the consequences of the punishment, I still don't know what he was charged with. where is the police report. i didn't see it published here and what about the girls the charged him. I thought it is innocent till proven guilty. Why would he want to work there at UMD under those circumstances. it's not like he has to work. Sounds to me like there is someone after his job and ya you know..

This chancellor lives in denial. She also said UMD students don't drink or smoke pot in the dorms. In fact they have since UMD was built and the rules are still the same-give the person in charge of your dorm a pinch or a beer. How can she see this situation with any clarity when she lives in a fantasy world. The men who comment that women should be grateful are the same who complain they can't find a good women. Wonder why?

Two scenes keep replaying in my mind over and over again. One is of Rod playing the guitar on a wintry morn before the never happened snowshoe date. Second of an investigator of sexual harrassment with the name Dr. Peterson-Pearlman. Those two images are enough to make me never look at or talk to a woman again lest I be investigated or compared to Rod's singing. Jerry was right when he told George " it's like looking at the sun. You never stare - just glance and look away ".

I think it is funny to watch how men comment on the story compared to women... Men: Slow News Day, Women: Way to Go! As a man I think he should be fired and I refuse to go to Burrito Union. If this was my daughter going to college I would sue this guy for everything and open a Chipolte at the Burrito Union site! I think the women were extremely brave to stand up for themselves and report what was happening. I have worked in many places and always try to be profesional in all my contact with my peers, it bugs me though when some men who "flirt" as they see it are never repremanded. Bill Clinton sexually harassed women yet the head of NOW sat and defended him for political reasons. These messages that the head of UMD are sending to their students is not good education.

This isn't any different than allowing the police officers and parole officers to use their 'security clearance' to investigate whom ever they choose, using county computers. A state school letting an offender off, the county looking the other way when employees unlawfully use their 'power' to investigate law abiding citizens that were not involved in any type of police case or investigation. The county is just part of the state and obviously both are ok with cover ups.

every man in town that knows Raymond knows to lock up their girlfriends around him...how did it take so long for the rest of Duluth to finally figure this out?

Ai yi yi. This story has become as salacious as that of our ball slasher friend. And I must say, although its contents ARE disturbing, the ignorant and flippant comments written by its viewers are the real tragedy. Sexual harrassment is unjustificable. End of story.

Didn't these ladies stand up for themselves? They brought this to the forefront, to the people who have the authority to do something about it. That is way more than simply giving Rod a disapproving look or chewing him out. This way, he will be held accountable for his actions, and hopefully not repeat his mistakes. THESE LADIES DID TAKE A STANCE, A STANCE MOST OF YOU CRITICIZERS DON'T HAVE THE GUMPTION TO DO.
