With several developments and an elementary school there should be a sidewalk on this 45 mph road. Good luck to the victim.

My thoughts and prayers go out to this young man and his family. What a tragedy. Also to the woman driving the car - she made several bad choices and must live with herself from now on. On a side note, any idea where this guy was walking? Ever since I came to Duluth, I've wondered why the Universities are so far from the student housing and why both are so far from any business or entertainent young people are interested in. There are no buses running through the night, there are very few bike lanes or shoulders to accomodate pedestrians, and nobody should be driving if they are too tired or if they've had a few drinks. So, aside from slowing down and driving safer, which this story has certainly taught me to do, what else can we do to prevent tragedies like this from happening in the future? God Bless.

At that time in the morning I am sure she was drunk. I have to ask why in the world is an 18 year out in the road at that time of night? I feel sorry that he is not doing well, and I pray that he will recover. There is to many questions, she was in the wrong, no question about it. But you do have to wonder if he was at fault also. Was he at a party that involved drinking? Was he drinking? We may never know, they said, she said.
