I wouldn't want to know someone like her! I can't believe someone could defend her actions! Maybe if she hit you & left you for dead, you'd think differently!?!

What happened was a tragedy, but none of you even know Julie Gronski. Hear her side of the story before you start judging someone you don't even know.

Jake N. Walking on the side of the road means "you are asking to be hit?" That is th dumbest thing I have ever heard!!! No sidewalk and walking home doesnt mean you want to get hit by a car. Who in their right mind would ASK to be hit by a car??? Come on now!!

this poor young boy is not at fault in any shape or form! If he was drinking he chose not to get behind a wheel and walked home, not to mention it doesnt matter if he was or wasnt! She is at fault #1 her drivers license was suspened she had no business driving! #2 she hit a pedestrian whether it's 200 am or pm she hit someone! # 3 the worst is she left this young boy to die on the side of the road and didnt care!

Jake N says "Just because someone does not have a license doesn't make them unfit to drive." MOST people have their licenses suspended because they break traffic laws or have had too many violations in a specific time period. So unless you know what her driving record is, don't imply that she was fit to drive. There's alot more to driving than turning a key and stepping on the gas.

KD- although the kid may be alive, he obviously as suffered some major trauma. Even if he "lives" through this, he could very well end up in a group home for those with brain injuries or even worse a nursing home. And to put my two cents in- yes, it is hard to say how most of us would be feeling if we had been the driver of that vehicle. But whether she feels remorse or not, she probably could have gotten off on lesser charges had she reported the accident right away. Instead, she chose to cover up the accident for days. Now it's more than just an "accident"- it's a serious crime. Throw the book at her.

The photograph of the front end of the car is horrendous. Knowing that the damage was done by the impact between metal and a human body sends quite a message. The purpose behind hit and run statutes is to keep injured people alive. Its one thing to hit someone and, as many writers seem to believe, there may be mitigating circumstances, but then to leave a helpless victim to die as so much road kill is a whole different issue and cannot be excused nor tolerated in a civilized society.

You people are naive. Just because someone does not have a license doesn't make them unfit to drive. Tax wise, yes, physically and mentally, no. Also, just because you hit someone with your vehicle, that doesn't automatically make you guilty of a crime. There are several factors leading up to the events of the accident. Most, Im sure we will never know. The chances are at that time of the night she had been drinking, which is a crime. 2. Walking the white line at that time of night is asking to be hit, and they were probably drunk as well. Yes, that is speculation, but to be on the road and not paying attention shows an altered state of consciousness. It is unfortunate that this happened, and her running didn't make matters any better. The correct thing for her to do would have been to stop, regardless of any circumstances. Also, all parties involved should fully disclose any and all information leading up to the events, regardless of the consequences. Such as minors drinking, or the driver drinking. My thoughts go out to the family of this accident. Regardless of how it happened, having a loved one injured is never easy.Especially in a situation like this, where now they could be facing years of gruesome reminders because the chances are the son will never make it out of a hospital bed.
