No one should profit on this man's loss even if he made a mistake. As leaders and representatives of the community the police should do the proper act and return this man's chair. Obviously it meant a lot to him.

Best part is, the PD has a chair missing the seat cushion. There's a seaparate listing, presumably by the guy convicted of DWI, for the "seat cushion that fits the famous chair" Bidding on that starts at $500. Proceeds will help him pay his fines and legal fees, because he's a distinguished veteran.

Michael p., have you ever herd of a Police sald?, that is where they sell things that have been confishcted by the Police...be it in a drug raid or what not. Yes your auto can be taken by the Police if you have a number of DWI's and it can be sold.

Chris S., can't you read it was removed because they were using the Lazy-boy name and it's not a Lazy-boy. Don't commit if you are not going to read the story.

I don't feel sorry for your nightmare. You created this mess, now suffer for it. You should have thought about just making sure it was all legit. Go have a drink, but don't drive a chair..

It's rather amusing that a law enforcement agency is found guilty of false advertising in a case were ascertaining the correct fact that it was not a La-Z-Boy chair would be as easy as looking the chair over and looking for a manufacturing label under or on the chair somewhere. If there was no label I certainly would not assume it was a La-Z-Boy chair.....why in the world would you ? Seems they were treating the facts rather cavalierly given the world wide attention, not to mention the profit motive.

I had a feeling that some of the "sellers" were posting bogus bids just to get their names in the news and that's why it got pulled. I'm sure the City of Proctor planned it all out and had planned on pulling it the day before the auction was over. If the bids on the new auction don't soar like the other auction, then I guess we'll know it was a planned thing. It would be fairly obvious.

what is the precidence for confiscating and selling this Lae C Boyz chair? I have never heard of a automobile being confiscated and sold because of a DWI. Is this common? Just wondering.
