Well Dr Z if he had designed and built the 89 Buick puting in hours of elbow grease making it a one of a kind, maybe it would be the same. Let's see you "create" something so cool and have it taken away. Because this is a one of a kind "creation" of Mr. Anderson's, I think it deserves a little special consideration.

Drink and drive... lose your ride! Yes, the police can take your car and auction it. It's a state law. He's lucky it was a chair, and not a $40,000 pick-up truck.

Joe S., yes they do that the right to sell it...just like they have the right to sell an auto that was taken in a DWI case or a boat, guns, home or whatnot taken in a drug bust.

Here's and idea.....Mr Anderson should sue the bar he was at for the amount that the chair gets sold at auction for. Because of course it has to be someone else to blame because he was drunk and got his chair forfeited. If the chair meant so much to him he should have thought twice about taking the risk of drinking and operating a motorized vehicle...He B.A.C was .29 people it was not like he was at a .10 or a .9. Yeah I feel bad for the guy but come on HE made the choice to drive intoxicated, now HE has to suffer the consequences. If the guy had smashed into a parked car with a vehicle and it was forfeited would there still be this whole poor Dennis outcry.

Its obvious that the Proctor Police Department didn't do their homework, before they put the chair on e-bay. I say give the chair back to Mr. Anderson, he seems to be the one with brains!

Who knew DWI's could be so profitable for everyone involved. It will end up being the latest rage.... (note sarcasm). Anyone and everyone is trying to cash in on the event, including some unknown artist selling a drawing on eBay now. And somehow, the "missing" seat cushion has been found and has its own auction. Apparently, it was worth the time to find it and try to make money off it too. This whole thing is pathetic.

I hope the Police Department does get 40,000 for the chair!!!! The man evidently didn't learn from his first DUI and is not real bright. These are the kind of people that our law enforcement get to deal with on a daily basis!!!!!

Kristin W: Right On! The PD doesn't have the right to confiscate and sell this chair. Jessica P: I think I agree with you but there are too many big words there to know for sure.
