Fix it! It's a no brainer...The tower is an icon in our city. Since I was 17, I have considered Duluth to be a scaled down version of San Francisco, with amazing views of Lake Superior and the surrounding area. The city can spend money on issues that arent historical, I think they should foot the bill for a piece of Duluths real history.....Is that too much for you Donny Ness?

Start a fund similar to "Pennies for Playfront." Everyone will have the opportunity pitch in.

Start a fund (place to send contributions) I'm from Douglas county and have fond memories of a prom nite spent at Enger Tower 55 years ago. It needs to be preserved.

GL from Fla, I guess if you have time to have 7 kids, and there aren't many family's that size these days, then think of the nice family picnic at Enger they could have. At $5.00 each would be something those 5 kids can enjoy for a long time. And at $35.00 for that family over how many years it'll remain standing is just pennies ...wow

During the term of Mayor John Fedo, the City of Duluth enacted an Ordinance for protection and preservation of historical and cultural resources and a Commission to carry out the directives as required by the federal government. However, during the next Mayor's term the direction of the Commission was architecture and that has continued. The proposed sale of the Minehaha window brought a question from a Commission member who was advised to read the Ordinance. Response: "What Ordinance?"
Find Ordinance in Minnesota Law Library.

I say put up the money and restore the tower. Too many historical sites are razed so someone can make money on the space. What good does that do for the masses? Nothing. We Americans are quick to forget where we came from and what efforts our predecessors contributed to continue on...

Ken C. So each Duluth family should donate $5. That means a family of seven would give $35 and a family of two $10. Sounds equitable to me eh?
