The higher the THC content is the less you have to use to get the same effect. While I don’t think smoking cannabis is the best delivering system. The potency has always varied. Yes back in the 60’s I could have found seedy swag crap with 2-4% THC But I also could find cannabis that has simply not been exposed to male cannabis plants and get the good stuff with 10-15% THC same as today. Yes horticulturists have been able to breed better stains with better flavor and can differentiate medical benefits between stains. But the prohibitionist claim that cannabis is 10 times stronger than back in the day is not true. You just didn’t hang out with the cool crowd. Besides Marinol is 100% THC and that didn’t stop the FDA from approving that. Compare beer, wine and hard liquor. The amount of alcohol is what gets people drunk not how diluted it is or isn’t. As far as hemp goes, I can’t say much. I am speechless after learning about what happened to the hemp trade in the 30’s. But it is more dumbfounding that we have not at least legalized a plant that has no intoxicating effects and would be a huge for our economy. HEMP IS NOT MARIJUANA! They are two different stains and hemp can’t get you high, not even if you smoked an acre of it. It is very easy to see the difference if you have higher than a 5th grade education. Yet your federal government can’t see the difference and that is so sad. A billion dollar industry just sitting there.

There is a vast difference between hemp and the dope of today. The THC content of hemp is negligible, while the dope today is 10 times or more stronger than when I was a young abuser.

Hot topic here huh, everyone is going to have their own opinion on Marijuana, it's benefits, it's side effects, and it's re-legalization. Here are some known facts on Marijuana.
-It is a natural growing plant, capable of growing on six of the seven continents.
-It is a highly renewable source of fiber for textiles, rope, and it's highly durable.
-It has a documented history of being used by people in some capacity for over 5000 years.
-It can be used as a medicine (to go on further with this one could just be lengthy) for many different purposes. Keep in mind that all FDA Approved medications are not natural, scientifically engineered, guesses. How many FDA Approved drugs kill people everyday?
-Yes, it can be used to alter your state of mind for recreational purposes.
Now, let's see here we depend on many different man made materials that harm the environment to make. Then other things we depend on are natural but they still harm the environment due to the processing and then the consumption of them, and we will run out sometime. I believe as long as we have fire we have pollution to some capacity. We need cost effective options that are low cost to produce, serve multiple uses, are renewable, and takes minimal processing. It's always been here! Marijuana.
Regulation of Marijuana yeah I'm on board with that. Tax Marijuana sure why not, everything else is and it legitimizes it as accepted. It will stop some crime, or what is consider a crime under current law. Now the gateway drug issue I'm not on board with saying Marijuana is the gateway drug.
Now lets how can it be bad, it can make you tired when you need to be paying attention, such as driving. You are smoking a known carcinogen, bad for the lungs it has to be. Forgetfulness, hey some times we need that (depression). Distraction, again refer to needing to pay attention. Financially it can ruin people but so can the stock market, alcohol, and marriage.
Well that's enough for me, obviously re-legalize and it get over it after all it will never go away. Just when it is re-legalized do it right and listen to everyone's point of view open minded.

I think marijuana is just as bad as alcohol. Sure it doesn't attack major organs and make you black out, but it impairs your decisions just as well. If they legalize it, we will have more accidents. It should be given the same rules and punishments as alcohol. It should have the same restrictions and taxes as cigarettes. The only reason the state would even legalize it is to make more money from taxes, especially in this state. I have never lived in a state with so many pot heads! And people don't really understand the afffects of it until they have grown up with a parent who does it. You can't criticize from the parties you've been to and how you felt when you did it a few times. There's a difference between frequent users and the partiers.

It should be legalized and then taxed at the same rate as tobacco and banned everywhere to the same extent as cigarettes. Fair is fair.
