I think they should have the same foresight and planning as the new central high school and rockridge did when they were built.

How can we talk about IT when it is the Tribune alone that dictates the topics?

When the East High school building upgrade plan was set in motion and the beautiful building was built and the new school year started the students noticed right away a major blunder in the design.
The Design team were from the West Coast and apparently they do not provide lockers for their students coats and what not.
East staff and the school board officals were not aware that their students used lockers and as a result had egg on their collective faces.
East had a major problem as no room was set aside for the lockers so they had to errect lockers that look out of place. For severa months many of the students were forced to leave their books and jackets on the floor in the hallways.
If the Administration can blunder on East and the design of Central imagine what will happen at Ordean and Denfeld

I thought this was for comments regarding the western middle school and Lincoln/Piedmont elementary designs, not voting propaganda.

Vote for the people that have vowed to listen to the voters. The incumbants have already proven that they don't care what the voters think.

I think the design is wonderful, yet a waste of money. No reason you couldn't spend about 1/2 the money and remodel Morgan Park. I didn't notice any restrooms??? Maybe I just missed them. The interactive map is cool though. In reality it is too bad that the currently elected school board members bought into Johnson Controls, they seem to me to be anything but honest and forthright. They've gone and decided to change all the schools, build new ones (when not needed) and in the long run Duluth is losing kids every year to surrounding schools and private schools. In 5 years they will probably only use half of the new Denfeld class rooms because all the kids will be in Proctor, Hermantown, or Marshall. Cool Map though.....

So everyone who thinks the design is great is happy with the security for access to the building and that it is not another Columbine waiting to happen? How many corporate offices or business offices or plants do you see that provide unfettered access by anyone without being challenged? I don't think the designs provide adequate protection for children. Keep designing schools the same way and you are going to get the same problems. And a shopping center and public parking lot adjacent to the school provides more risk which is not mitigated.
