"Clinto was pretty much an MOR president that really didn't have much impact on economics". This kills me. I have been listening to the Lib media for the last 9 years try to tell me he was the greatest thing for the economy since WWII.

The fact is that the economy does not have an instant response, it is events and policies from some period before boom or bust that counts. To give credit to a republican, GHW Bush helped the economy in the 90's by raising taxes, he did the right thing and his party punished him causing him to lose in 1994. Clinto was pretty much an MOR president that really didn't have much impact on economics, the republicans, though, set policies of deregulation that contributed heavily to the recession of 2001, the Bush regime never brought about complete recovery from that recession and with it's failures on regulation allowed the financial industry to collapse. It isn't entirely who's in the majority, but whose policies are allowed to govern, we have been reeling from the colossal rebublican blunders and will will take time to complete that recovery. Yes, the facts DO speak for themselves, and I don't forget things.

Louis, you conveniently forget things. Libs are quick to credit Clinton for the econopmy in the 90's, while forgetting that the Republicans controlled the congress during the boom. You also forget that Jim jeffords defected in 2001 thus giving control of the senate to the democrats. With just that little bit of control the economy entered a recession in 2001. Republican control 2003-2007 and economy coming back. Decomcrat control in beginning in 2007 and worse recession in 70 years. The facts speak for themself.

bob w.,revisionist history as an excuse for the republican failures. First, there is no filibuster in the house, and the senate went under republican control in 1994, the last real filibuster was in 1992 and republicans have been more prone to use or threaten to use the tactic than democrats; republicans DID have control from 1994 to 2006, you have no argument.

louis n. Minneapolis, MN, there you go again, always twisting the "truth". During the 8 years the republicans did not control, as you well know the Dems had majority the last 2 years, and filibustered the previous 6, so where was this control?

Louis....let the conservatives complain because it is really all they have left. Have you ever noticed how conservatives complain no matter which party is in control. It is part of their political ideaolgy....complain, complain, complain. Conservatives claim to be "Patriots" and the true Americans...yet it is funny how they never have anything positive, constructive or half-way intelligent to say to say about the state of US Political Affairs. Well at least the conservatives who post here on this site that is....makes me wonder if they are even here for some intellectual discourse or just to simply "stir the pot of negativity."

bob w, during that same period the republicans controlled congress, you can hardly blame the democrats. Z: Gore, Gore, Gore, Gore, Gore, now we have used up all of your digits even you you can prove you have opposable thumbs.

Louis N. Minneapolis, MN, choice of words do not make a man. If you can sit there and blame everything that went wrong during the Bush administration onto GW Bush you are a sad individual. GW Bush has faults, this I agree, but I have enough intelligence to know Congress makes laws and budgets, not the President. I place more blame on 535 other indiviuals from both parties. Fearful is not even close to what we as a nation will go through for the next two years with the wolves guarding the deer herd.
