Berit Bergerson, 77, of Two Harbors, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was born on July 25, 1928 to Norman and Ruth (Bergquist) Svendsby in Oslo, Norway. She grew up in Oslo and attended business college there. She moved to Two Harbors in 1950 and married Kermit Bergerson in 1951. She was employed as a medical secretary for Dr. Tetlie in Duluth for 12 years and later as a hospitality hostess for Lake County Historical Society. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and also taught Norwegian language. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Women of the Moose and Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Two Harbors, where she enjoyed catering, serving for weddings and funerals and making quilts. As a young lady, she enjoyed skiing, skating and traveling. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kermit; and brother, Eric Svendsby. Berit is survived by her son, Sven (Pam) Bergerson of Two Harbors; daughter, Susan (Michael) Lannan of Ft. Worth, Texas; sister-in-law, Bjorg Svendsby of Norway; grandchildren, Erick (Amy) Bergerson, Ryan (Sandy Peterson) Bergerson, Christopher Lannan and Aaron Lannan and great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Calista, and Meagan Bergerson. SERVICE:1 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2006 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Two Harbors. Burial at Lakeview Cemetery. Arrangements by Cavallin Funeral Home.
