Duluth Police release names of drivers involved in fatal crashUpdated at 4:20 Duluth police have released the names of the two drivers involved in a fatal accident Monday afternoon on Wallace Avenue.
A 62-year-old Duluth woman has died as the result of injuries she received when her car collided with an SUV driven by a 16-year-old girl that crossed the center line Monday afternoon on Wallace Avenue.
Leigh McMullen was pinned in her 2000 Honda Civic and had to be extricated by Duluth firefighters about 5 p.m. She was transported to a Duluth hospital where she died of her injuries several hours later.
Emma L. Clevette, 16, was driving a GMC Jimmy northbound when she crossed the centerline and hit McMullen's southbound Honda. Clevette was not injured in the crash. There were no other occupants in either vehicle.
The accident is under investigation. Police said there was no evidence that Clevette was impaired by drugs or alcohol. Speed does not appear to be a contributing factor.
Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to call police traffic Investigator Tom Stolee at 730-5474.
