News Tribune, Jan. 28, 1974 A new gas station in Duluth is offering an unlimited supply of gasoline at the lowest price in town. The Hudson Oil Co. opened Jan. 15 and is selling regular for 38.9 cents a gallon and premium at 42.9. The Town View Improvement Corp. of Duluth is among 60 organizations nationally cited by the National Center for Voluntary Action for outstanding voluntary service during 1973. Town View grew from an idea in 1967 to a $1.7 million housing development last year.
News Tribune, Jan. 28, 1994 Duluth was the 12th-most-popular destination last year for people moving to cities with populations of less than 100,000, according to a survey by Ryder truck rental company. Most people moving to Duluth came from the Twin Cities, Chicago and Milwaukee. Minnesota Gov. Arne Carlson has recommended $8 million for the Lake Superior Center in his bonding bill in the Legislature. The center, which has been planned since the mid-1980s, is to be built near Duluth’s Bayfront Park.
