Peter Andrew Nilsson, 50, lifelong resident of Duluth, passed away as a result of an auto accident, Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s, surrounded by his loved ones.
Pete was a man who had firm convictions. He lived strong, loved strong, and as his daughter says “gave tight hugs”. She was the light of his life.
He was happiest when riding down the “two laner” on his motorcycle, wind in his hair and his stereo blasting. He loved music, ALL types of music. He could recite lyrics from artists at a drop of a hat, and always had the best stories to tell.
Pete was a long time member of the AA community, having acquired 28 years of consistent sobriety. His strength, hope, and experience touched many. He was also an active member of the Freemen MC.
Peter leaves his spirit and love with many; his wife Dena (Snydle) Nilsson; daughter Samantha Nilsson; father and mother Bob and Sue (Smith) Nilsson; half sister Colleen Merkes; a large extended family including his MC brothers, an abundance of friends, and lifelong friends James Williams and Rodd Kleinschmidt.
VISITATION: 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. memorial service on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 in Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth. 218-624-5200. Reception to follow at the Duluth Alano Club, 3009 Restormel Street.
