Gertrude Pearson, 86, of Duluth, loving wife and mother, died Dec. 19, 2013, in Benedictine Health Center.
Gertrude was born in Duluth March 15, 1927, to Boleslaus “William” and Sallie Kostrzewski and was a 1944 graduate of St. Jean de Baptiste High School. Gert married Evert Pearson in Duluth Sept. 21, 1963. She had worked as a secretary at Cutler-Magner and UMD.
Gert was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church serving as a lector and treasurer of its Altar and Rosary Society. She also was active in Duluth bowling and golf leagues and volunteered at the Miller Dwan Hospital cafeteria and gift shop.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother Albert Caskey; and son-in-law Charles Orville.
Gert is survived by her daughter, Diane Orville, of Duluth; brother Leonard Caskey of Duluth; sister-in-law Carolyn Caskey of Las Vegas; six nieces; five nephews; and many grand-nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: 5-7 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. rosary recitation Thursday, Dec. 26, and 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Friday, Dec. 27, all in Holy Family Catholic Church, 2430 W. Third St., Duluth. Burial at Bethany Cemetery.
