News Tribune, Nov. 19, 1973 Lewis Latto, president of the Duluth City Council, said yesterday North Central Airlines isn’t planning to provide second-level loading and unloading facilities at the new Duluth International Airport terminal. That means passengers will have to go outside to board or leave aircraft. The Duluth regional office of the Minnesota Office of Consumer Services opens today in the Providence Building. State Director Sherry Chenoweth announced last week that Mrs. Marilyn Krueger will head the Duluth office, the agency’s first branch location in the state.
News Tribune, Nov. 19, 1993 The sixth annual Bayfront Blues Festival will be held Aug. 12-14 in Bayfront Park, promoters will announce today. The event will not be free this year, however, because of increased costs in talent, security, cleanup and staffing. One of Duluth composer Bradley Bombardier’s new works, “Sinfonia Itasca,” premieres tomorrow night at the Myles Reif Performing Arts Center in Grand Rapids. Bombardier also has recently finished retooling a cello concerto that will be performed by the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra this fall.
