City Council at Large
Duluth is on the move. More people are realizing Duluth’s potential for new businesses, economic growth and outdoor adventure. In 2013 and 2014 Duluth will see a combined $200 million invested by projects that have been finished, are in progress or which will be started. We need a city councilor who understands the entrepreneurial spirit that Duluth cultivates.
I grew up in the East Hillside neighborhood and have always been inspired by Duluth’s uncompromising authenticity. After graduating from Duluth Central High School, I worked at a local grocery store while earning my degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota Duluth.
I conducted economic development research for APEX, a driving force behind many of the economic development projects in our area.
I now work for a family-owned accounting firm in downtown Duluth.
I believe that everyone can have a real opportunity to have a good job in
Duluth through hard work and a community that encourages initiative.
I will be a positive force on the Duluth City Council with a particular interest in growing our city. Showcasing Duluth’s workforce (one of the best in the state, with a 71 percent labor force participation rate) will help attract new business and strengthen Duluth’s economy. Retaining talent and furthering partnerships with existing businesses will expand the tax base. This long-term growth strategy will provide resources to repair our crumbling infrastructure, ensure community safety, and maintain our park and community services.
Improvement is an ongoing process. I am dedicated to Duluth’s future. From Lester Park to Fond Du Lac, everyone deserves the chance to make a life here.
I humbly and energetically ask for your vote on November 5.
Duluth’s best days are ahead!
