Timothy W. Peterson, 64, of Two Harbors, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 19th, 2013, with his wife in his arms and surrounded by his children at the Solvay Hospice House in Duluth.
Tim was born Nov. 15, 1948, to Marilyn and William Peterson in Two Harbors. He was the oldest of six children.
Tim graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1966. He attended college at University of Minnesota, Duluth and Twin Cities campuses. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from St Scholastica.
Tim was drafted to the Army during the Vietnam War, serving his country in Germany. He lived in Minneapolis and worked for Norman Jensen and Eide Saw. He later moved to Cherry, Minn., and worked for Continental Sales and Equipment in Hibbing. Tim retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Two Harbors as a Wetlands Project Manager in 2010.
Tim was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, camping, and canoeing. He took much pleasure in his hunting shack, and tapped maple trees to make his own syrup. He loved participating in Rendezvous throughout Minnesota, particularly the Grand Portage Rendezvous.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his son Christopher.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Bonnie; his children Jeremy, Jodi, Molly, and Meagen; sisters Diane, Lorrie, Louise, Jean, and Julie; and numerous extended family.
MASS: 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, in Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Two Harbors, followed by a lunch reception. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the Mass.
