At this time of year with the sun shining on our scenic city and lake, we realize how lucky we are to live in Duluth. This fall we are lucky Duluthians to have some fine women and men running for school board and city council.
Oct. 22 at Myers-Wilkins
A School Board candidate forum will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Myers-Wilkins Elementary School, 1027 N. 8th Ave. East, beginning at 6:30 p.m. League of Women Voters Duluth is sponsoring the forum along with the PTSA council, Students For the Future, Clayton Jackson McGhie Memorial, and Community Action Duluth. Come early at 5:30 p.m. for a tour of the school.
Oct. 29 at City Hall
On Tuesday, October 29, League of Women Voters Duluth will hold a City Council candidate forum in the City Council Chambers in City Hall at 6:30 p.m.
League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization which does not endorse candidates. All candidates will have equal time to answer questions and no candidate is provided questions in advance. Additionally, the public is asked to submit questions during the forum as time permits.
I encourage you to come and hear the candidates whose names are on the November 5 ballot. Be an informed voter. More information about LWV Duluth and the candidate forums can be found at www.lwvduluth.org.
