Corrine Pauline Carlson, 75, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, surrounded by family, in her home in St. Francis, Minn., after a five-month battle with multiple cancers.
Corrine was born in Duluth Dec. 29, 1937, and was the elder daughter of Ed and Gladys (Forbort) Mosack. She graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1956 and lived in Duluth for most of her life. Corrine worked at the PanTour travel agency, as a bookkeeper for Road Machinery & Supplies Co. and as a secretary for Minnesota Power Co.
Despite the many hardships and challenges she faced, Corrine dedicated her life to her three children, instilling in them common-sense Midwestern values and guiding them to become responsible adults with successful careers. She truly was a great mother.
In 2003 she moved to St. Francis to be closer to her children and grandchildren. In her retirement she was an active volunteer at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, Minn.
She was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys, and his father, Ed.
Corrine is survived by her brother, Don Mosack, of Oak Wood Hills, Ill.; sister Liz (Tom) Pearson of Isabella; daughters Melinda (Mike) Grandaw of Lindstrom, Minn., and Cheryl (Jeff) Hassel of Andover, Minn.; son Kevin (Christy) Whalen of Carlsbad, Calif.; and six beautiful grandchildren.
Our family is grateful for the tremendous support from the Visiting Angels home-care program, whose team helped us keep Corrine as comfortable as possible in her final days on earth.
FUNERAL MASS: 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, in St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 325 E. Third St., Duluth. Interment will be at Park Hill Cemetery in Duluth.
