Andrea H. Hammann, 75, longtime Superior resident, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at her residence.
She was born on Nov. 17, 1937 in Duluth, to Honorable Judge Patrick and Rose (Filitrault) Burke.
Andrea graduated high school from Stanbrook Hall on the campus of St. Scholastica in 1955, was an undergraduate of Marquette University and she received her Master's Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
She was a principal and administrator for the Superior School District for many years.
Andrea married William A. Hammann, III on June 25, 1960 and they celebrated 48 years of marriage before his passing in November of 2008.
She is preceded in death by her husband William and her parents.
Andrea is survived by three sons, William IV (Melissa) Hammann, Patrick (Jane) Hammann and Kurt (Tracy) Hammann; four grandchildren, Sarah, Holly, William V and Kaleigh Hammann.
She was active and involved with the YMCA, United Way and Spirit Mountain Villas. Many of her favorite moments were spent at the cabin, traveling the world, and embracing family.
VISITATION: 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 in Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Belknap Street, Superior and continue until the 11 a.m. Memorial Mass with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.
There will be a graveside service at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 at Calvary Cemetery in Duluth. Should friends desire, memorials may be made in Andrea's name to the Spartan Gardens, Superior High School or Superior High School Scholarship Fund.
