The CEO of St. Luke’s hospital has been honored by a statewide medical group.
John Strange earned the Heart of Minnesota Outstanding Senior Leadership award from the Health Care Auxiliary of Minnesota, according to a St. Luke’s news release.
Strange, who received the award during the group’s conference at Breezy Point Resort in September, was nominated by the hospital’s Volunteer Service Guild.
“(Strange) consistently extends support, encouragement and appreciation for volunteers,” Mary Matlack, director of volunteer services, said in a letter supporting the nomination.
He takes the time to get to know volunteers and to keep them informed, her letter said.
The award was established in 1993 to honor a health-care administrator for a “cooperative, supportive, enthusiastic and well-defined relationship” with the volunteer program in his or her institution.
