Alyce Goldish Horwitz, 97, of Duluth passed away Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 at her home, The Pines II.
She was born in 1916 to Samuel S. and Bessie Goldish.
Alyce was a lifelong Duluth resident and was co-owner of Famous Clothing with her husband, Julius. Alyce and Julius enjoyed 57 years together. She was an active member of Temple Israel.
Alyce is preceded in death by her husband, Julius; son, Arnold; son-in-law, Harlan Miller; brothers-in-law, Alex Astren and Nathan Horwitz; and brother and sister-in-law, Ethel and Bert Garon.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Miller of Minnetonka; granddaughters, Shanna Miller of Minnetonka and Susan (Phillip) Goucher of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; sisters, Lorraine Astren and Marian Kiener both of St. Louis Park; sister-in-law, Ruth Horwitz of Denver; she is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends, and her Pines II family.
The family wishes to thank caregivers Tammy, Trista, Michelle, and Regina for their loving care over the years.
SERVICE: 11 a.m.Friday, Sept. 20, 2013 in Temple Israel, 1602 E 2nd St. Interment at Tifereth Israel. Shiva will be held on Sat, Sept, 21 and Sun, Sept, 22 at Pines II, 70 East St. Marie St, Duluth at 6 p.m. both nights.
