Beverly F. Hanson, longtime resident of Cloquet, Minn., died Sept. 8, 2013 in North Oaks, Minn., as the result of Alzheimer’s disease. She was 83.
Bev received a BA from Augustana College, Sioux Falls, in 1952. In Cloquet, she was a social worker, supervisor and then Director for Carlton County Human Services. She also served as a Board Member for Members Cooperative Credit Union and the Aging Trust Fund. Her joys in life included travelling with her daughter Sandy, singing In the church choir, listening to loons, watching clouds, and especially her weeks each summer at Potato Lake with family members including her sister Alice and good friends, Mona and Larry Anderson.
She was preceded in death by granddaughter Amy and two sisters, Alice Warne and Leona Gilbertson.
She is survived by her brother Don Neu and wife Roberta; two daughters, Susan McPherson and husband Verne of New Brighton, Minn., and Sandy Hanson of Minneapolis; as well as four granddaughters and five great-grandchildren.
SERVICES: will be held in October in Bryant, South Dakota with internment at West Bethany Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the Alzheimer’s Research Center, Regions Hospital, 640 Jackson Street, St. Paul, MN 55101.
