Jesse Coyle of Proctor defended his Class C title on Sunday at the Kia of Duluth Drag Races & Car Show on Garfield Avenue.
It was a repeat of 2012 as Coyle and his 1974 Mercury Comet again claimed the division title over Jon Pasko of Cumberland, Wis., and his 1976 Ford Mustang Cobra II.
A capacity field of 100 vehicles competed in the two-day event, with preliminary rounds on Saturday and eliminations on Sunday. This was the third year of head-to-head racing on the 1/8th-mile street course.
David Karcher of Taylors Falls, Minn., and Ronald Flood of North Branch, Minn., were the Class C semifinalists.
In Class A, Eugene Ritchie of Phillips, Wis., and his 1992 Dodge Dakota won the title over Leo Moos of Cumberland and his 1986 Ford Mustang GT. Jim Neylon of Duluth finished third in his 1994 Chevy Camaro.
In Class B, Brian Lofquist of St. Paul Park, Minn., won the title with his 1963 Ford Falcon. Wayne Paquette of Murillo, Ontario, was second with his 1932 Ford pickup, and Brad Miller of Duluth took third place in his 1969 Camaro.
