Robert W. Peterson passed away Sept. 1, 2013 in Augustana Mercy Care Center, Moose Lake, Minn.
Robert was born in Proctor, Minn., to Hilbert and Ethel Marie (Gilderman) Peterson.
He attended Proctor High School and joined the Navy in 1942 where he served for four years aboard the USS Sampson.
He met Harriet Greenburg and entered into marriage Oct. 31,1945 in which they resided in the New York-New Jersey area for over 20 years. Robert drove bus for the New York City Transit, when he retired they returned to Minnesota where they lived in the Cloquet and Moose Lake area.
Robert also served as a constable in Brevator Township.
Robert loved his wood carving and painting, he enjoyed his ham radio. He also raised goats and enjoyed his horses.
He is preceded in death by his wife; an infant daughter; his parents; one sister Dorothy Parmeter and one brother Henry Peterson.
He is survived by his sister Lois Seidenstricker of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; two sons Michael (Carol) Peterson of Tobyhannah Penn., Jeffrey (Andrea) Peterson of Kerrick, Minn.; four grandchildren, Donna (Timm) Hutchins of Katy, Texas, Kasey (Nicholas) Pohl of Blakeslee Penn., Timothy (Katie) Peterson of Moose Lake, Minn., and Jill Peterson of Barnum, Minn.; six great grandchildren Timothy and Gabriella Hutchins, Jasper Pohl, Brooklyn and Spencer Peterson and Riley Peterson; two step-grandchildren Anthony Nelson of Hermantown, Minn., and Nycole Nelson of Kerrick, Minn.
