A Red Flag Warning for possible rip currents has been issued for Park Point beaches through 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The Duluth Fire Department issued the warning shortly before noon today because current wind and wave conditions could create dangerous rip currents for anyone entering the surf.
“Everyone should stay out of the water regardless of swimming experience,” warns the fire department.
The conditions are of particular concern since the lifeguard season on Park Point ended Sunday. Surf flag locations are the 12th Street Beach, Lafayette Square and the Park Point beach. A new notice will be issued if conditions improve before 10 a.m. Tuesday.
